Buckingham Memorial Fountain is one of Chicago‘s most popular attractions. The fountain, one of the largest in the world, the world, is located in Grant Park and was dedicated to the people of Chicago in 1927 by Kate Buckingham in memory of her late brother, Clarence.
The fountain was designed to represent Lake Michigan and runs every hour on the hour from 8:00a.m. to 11:00p.m. daily operating mid-April to mid-October, depending on weather. The fountain produces a major water display and the center jet shoots 150 feet into the air. The real show begins at dusk every hour on the hour for about 20 minutes. The fountain‘s water display is accompanied by a light and music ensemble. The final display of the evening begins at 10p.m.
