Clinton St., Chicago
Chicago Union Station is a city landmark that has been
re-invented to be much more than a simple train station. Today, this railway terminal
still serves as only passenger station in Chicago, but now has a double-life as
a fantastic destination housing hip shops and stellar restaurants.
Whatever you needs, you are sure to find something for
everyone at this age-old railway terminal. If you are traveling to the city by train,
this is a perfect opportunity to check out all this historic train station has to
offer.
This building has been in a variety of popular movies,
the most famous being “The Untouchables” in the climatic scene where Eliot Ness
rescues a baby in a carriage from falling down the steps. When visiting Union Station,
focus on the spectacular architecture of this historic site.
The rejuvenation process has successfully restored this
beautiful building for generations to come. The Great Hall is a spectacle for the
eyes with its cavernous spaces, marble floors, epic columns, and illuminating skylights,
this building is absolutely gorgeous. Kids might find what’s inside a bit more interesting
than the building itself, but there is plenty to check out! Don’t forget to see
this fabulous train terminal turned into fantastic shopping and dining opportunity.
