Chicago Hyde Park dates back to the late 1850s on the city’s infamous South Side. Still going strong today, this park has been going through a renaissance.

The neighborhood surrounding the park is a tight knit one, often hosting a variety of events and festivals annually.

Once home to Chicago’s World Fair, the remnants of that great time in the city’s past is the Palace of Fine Arts designed by Charles Atwood.

The structure now houses the Museum of Science and Industry.

The park’s historical society is an excellent place to visit in order to learn more about this famous city landmark.

Hyde Park is filled with activities suitable for the entire family. There are an abundance of play spaces for children who need to work off some extra energy. Roam the park and visit the many statues and monuments that dot the area. Bring a picnic and enjoy dining in the great outdoors under one of the park’s lovely broad leaf trees.

The park is also near the prestigious University of Chicago, world renown for their research performed on all different subjects. This institute of higher education often hosts a variety of events throughout the year, often suitable for the entire family.
