Chicago Millennium Park
Location: 201 E. Randolph St.
Time: 9am-5pm
Cost: FREE
Chicago’s Millennium Park is the newest addition
to the city’s parks department. Established in 2001 after the city
turned an unused train yard into a beautiful natural environment,
the park is home to a great variety of events and activities throughout
the year.

|
Your first stop should be at the park’s
Welcome Center, which provides visitors of all ages with
information, events, and history (albeit short) of the park.
The centerpiece of this lovely spot of
green in the big city is a fantastic outdoor concert venue
designed by the unfathomably talented Frank Gehry.
This venue regularly holds musical events
year round, but especially during the summer.
Kids love Millennium Park for its great athletic venues,
including an ice skating rink.

After an exhausting day of
play, dine al fresco with the beauty of the great outdoors providing
a feast for your eyes.
Bring your own picnic basket full of goodies
or dine on treats in one of the park’s fabulous restaurants, you
will be pleased with the result. Whether you are jamming out to
hot tunes in the concert venue or performing hot moves on the ice
rink, this Chicago park is much, much more than your average city
green space.
