Ed Debevic’s is the type of restaurant where families can leave any false pretenses at the door. After all, amenities provided by the wait staff include: good fresh food, expedient service with a makeshift belligerent personae.
While teens may find the servers antics hilarious, parents should know that the attitude is part of the appeal or gimmick per se. Nonetheless, finger-licking delicious food is what makes the Chicago Restaurant such a draw.
The foods range from comfort foods (meat loaf) to over-sized hamburgers, chili dogs, and meals inspired by the Vegetarian. Although, Ed Debevic’s prices are quite reasonable, the persnickety chain has a few requirements. For instance, if your family has six members or more, be prepared to be charged a gratuity. Beware; there is a five dollar minimum per person – so everyone must order something. Despite the anti-customer driven philosophy of the restaurant, tasty food and convenience are two viable excuses to feed your family at Ed’s.
