 Evolving Planet

The Evolving Planet—that is what we call Earth. For more than a billion years Earth has evolved from a time of dinosaurs and unknown oceans to the time of today with seven continents and billions of people. Take a journey at the Field Museum to learn and discover the truly amazing planet we call home. Kids, travel back 4.5 billion years ago to an almost unfamiliar place. A time when earth was covered with volcanoes and meteor crashes. See fossils that proved life existed so many years ago. Fossils, rocks and volcanoes, oh my!

Sea creatures? A swampy forest in the middle of Illinois? These are just a few of the astonishing facts kids can learn throughout the exhibit.

Meet the sea animals that once lived where you are standing. Take a close look at the theory of Pangaea. Your kids will be amazed to learn how animals migrated and continents were formed. There are interactive exhibits for your child to learn hands-on about rocks and fossils. This is a truly unique exhibit filled with must see’s and must know’s. If your children love science they are sure to ooh and ahh over the many things they will discover.
