The State Street Halloween Happening Parade will be held on Saturday, October 22. If you are thinking about bringing the family on the 22nd of October, be sure to put the kids in their costumes because it’s a one of a kind interactive parade where over 4000 children join in the walk down State street.
With the parade kicking off at noon, there’s plenty of time to circle back to Pumpkin (Daley) Plaza where the youngsters can compete for the best costume or just be dazzled by the Midnight Circus.
Nonetheless. if the kids are planning for a little pumpkin decorating, avoid the parade day because it’s the only day pumpkins will be nowhere in sight.)
Event tip: To slip in a little free Broadway culture, plan to visit Pumpkin Daley Center Thursday through Sunday at 4 p.m. (and then again at 6:15 p.m.) Then be sure to stop by the hit musical tent, WICKED. The cast members and friends will be telling some stories from the Emerald City. Pumpkin decorating is another feature attraction, timing is key on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 2pm.
