 Kids & Kites Fest

The 7th Annual Mayor Daley’s Kids & Kites event - is calling all kite enthusiasts to flaunt your kite know-how. Both tourists and Chicago families are welcomed to innovate their kiting concepts. Use the lawn of the Museum of Science and Industry kite as your canvas of creation.

Mayor Daley is providing the kids with a complimentary kite kit. It will test the bounds of not only their flying skills but imaginations as well. To ensure the flying success of each kid, kite advisors will be on hand to show how to streamline maneuvers. For a little more inspiration, young-ones may climb aboard the 37-foot Winnebago, called the Kohl/McCormick StoryBus.

A world of enchanting stories will spark the youngster’s creativity. Ample free goods will be on hand for the kids to take home.

If the children grow bored and tired of kiting, they can always get their faces painted into their favorite expression for free. Remember to stop by Plaster Paradise so the kids can take home a souvenir keepsake of plastered kite magnets. Another complimentary treat for the kids are caricature pictures. It’s an innovative way to remember and cherish Daley’s Kite Festival 2005.

Event tip: To save the cost of gas, and the hassle of paying to park, take the CTA or RTA. A Chicago bus will drop you off in front of the Museum.
