Lakeview Mayfest is a great start to the summer season in Chicago. Taking place under the Big Top, the event offers great live music and a chance to enjoy some temptingly tasty food. Local craftsmen and merchants exhibit their wares to create some great shopping fun. Music, food, shopping and fun—what a great combination to say hello to summer.
Saturday includes the Thank You celebration for Chicago’s armed forces, with a reception that honors these public servants.
Feel the thrill as a military band performs and a special guest sings the national anthem. Pet lovers will love the Sunday Pet Parade, giving you a chance to show off the talents of your furry kid. Enter categories such as Best Looking and Owner Look-Alike or choose the difficult Pet Tricks segment to really highlight your pet’s talents.
Music includes Modern Day Romeos, 1 Hit Wonders and Liquid, so you and the family will have plenty of reason to get up and boogie. Dance, work up an appetite, eat and shop. It’s the perfect weekend.
