The Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade - has been a series of festivities in Chicago for more than 50 years. On Saturday, dyeing the Chicago River kicks off at 10:45 AM at Wacker and Columbus Drives.

From this location, the tradition of tingeing the Chicago River an emerald green hue has become a popular spectacle Then, from 11:30 the procession will depart from Balboa and Columbus Drive and head north.

This marks the 51st annual. St. Patrick’s celebrating in Chicago. This year a special viewing area stand will be on display at the Buckingham Fountain. If people who find this parade mild, the wild version of St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated the following day on the south side of Chicago.

The 28th Annual South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade - is hosted on the historical south side of Chicago. The highlights of the day start at 8:30 AM, where Irish songs will be performed. The parade will march off at noon at the corner of 103rd Street and Western Avenue.

Stockyard Kilty Pipe Band along with the Grand Marshal will lead the procession of marchers south on Western Avenue. The parade will works its way south to 115th Street where celebrations will continue throughout the day at local haunts. Hundreds of families, local businesses, schools, and civic organization meander through the parade route via the Beverly and Morgan Park communities.

Event tip: Take public transportation and arrive early to claim territory.
