Recently, one of our Very Important Parents from Omaha, Holy, send in her experience of one of her family vacations to share with you. Holly titled it:
Our Adventures in Chicago Our trip to Chicago started rocky because my son’s luggage was lost. Thanks to ChicagoKid’s.net recommendation, the Hard Rock Hotel was perfectly located. After we checked in, we ran over to Marshall Field’s and I picked up a few clothes for Chad.
That night, we dined Al Fresco at the Millennium Park. Chad made some friends playing in the fountain. The next morning, Chad woke up whining that he wanted to go see the bears. So, we jumped on a bus in front of our hotel and headed down to Lincoln Park Zoo.
The bumpy ride to the zoo made for quite good sightseeing; despite, the fact that I fell in the lap of a little old lady. My son was so cute he asked the poor women whose lap I fell into, ""Did my mommy hurt you.""
Seeing the polar bears was not enough for Chad. We could not leave the zoo without going for a paddle boat ride. Somehow, I crashed the paddleboat into the wall. A nice gentleman helped push us back out.
Because, I read about the fireworks at Navy Pier on ChicagoKids.net, I decided to spend our evening at Navy Pier. Chad had a ball on some of the rides and most of the games. With all the restaurants, places to shop and activities for the kids, it was the perfect way to end a long day.
On Sunday, before we checked out, we ate at one of the cafés on Michigan Avenue and took a stroll down to the Magnificent Mile. After our action packed trip to Chicago, I discovered that I had left Chad’s luggage in the living room back in Omaha.
